Acolytes should not light the wicks themselves. Light the tall paschal candle at the beginning of the 5 00 p m. Coordinate the candle lighting with the book so that you are lighting the same numbered candle. I e you both light 1 before moving to 2.

Leave the bell in place for a couple of seconds until you are sure that the candle. Extinguish the tall paschal candle at the end of the 5 00 p m. Candles are extinguished in reverse order from the diagram above. Get your candle lighter.
